How It All Started

Neighbouring Rights in the US film industry pertain to the rights of performers, producers, and other contributors to receive royalties for the public performance and broadcast of their work. Unlike music, Neighbouring Rights in the film industry are less commonly discussed and understood. These rights ensure that individuals involved in the creation and distribution of a film are compensated when their work is shown on television, streamed online, or broadcast in other public venues. However, the complexity and lack of widespread knowledge about these rights often result in underpayment or non-payment of deserved royalties.
